Technician crashed into deep well air respirator to help

At 4:00 pm on the 24th, a construction site worker in Jiqiang Town, Xiji County, Guyuan City, Ningxia Province, accidentally fell into an operation well that was 14 meters deep during a soil sampling task. The situation quickly turned critical as the worker was at risk of suffocation and severe injury.

Upon receiving the emergency call, the Xiji County Fire Brigade immediately sent two vehicles and 12 firefighters to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered that the well opening was only 50 centimeters wide, making access extremely difficult. The trapped individual’s breathing was weak, and the well was both narrow and deep, posing significant challenges for the rescue team.

To ensure a safe and efficient operation, the firefighters set up a rescue tripod to help manage the rescue efforts. They also deployed air respirators to provide oxygen to both the trapped worker and the rescuers. A highly trained firefighter with experience in confined space rescues was chosen to descend into the well. With careful coordination, the rescuer reached the victim and began the critical process of stabilizing the situation.

Due to the lack of oxygen underground, the worker briefly lost consciousness. The rescuers quickly administered oxygen, which helped bring the worker back to awareness. After a tense and challenging effort, the worker regained full consciousness and was assisted by the firefighters in securing a safety rope. With coordinated teamwork, the trapped individual was successfully pulled out of the well and taken to the hospital for further medical attention. Fortunately, the worker is now out of danger and in stable condition.
