Efficient cure of bean wilt

In every region of China where soybeans are cultivated, blight is a common threat that can lead to significant crop losses. This disease causes large areas of the plants to become stagnant and die, greatly reducing overall yield. The pathogen responsible for blight specifically targets soybean plants, making it a serious concern for farmers. Timely application of **pesticides** is crucial in managing this disease. Once infected, the symptoms typically start during the seedling stage, with yellowing and eventual death of young plants. In the field, the disease often begins at the flowering stage, spreading rapidly from the base of the stem upward. Affected stems may turn dark brown and develop a sunken appearance, with the vascular tissue inside turning discolored. The leaves show brown veins, followed by wilting and falling off. The roots also become discolored, with fewer lateral roots formed. Pod production decreases significantly, and the pods may show yellow-brown discoloration along their edges. Eventually, the entire plant will die. In severe cases, the blight can spread very quickly from the base of the plant to the top, causing rapid wilting and death. To help prevent and manage this issue, **The Chinese Pesticide Network** offers some effective strategies: First, select **disease-resistant varieties** based on local soil conditions and climate. Varieties like Qiu Kang 19, Chun Feng 2, Jiu Bai Bai, and Jinzhou Double Season Beans are known for their resistance to this disease. Second, implement crop rotation with onions, garlic, or cabbage. Avoid continuous planting of cowpeas in the same area, as this can increase the risk of infection. Third, use sorghum in cultivation and ensure proper spacing to improve air circulation. Watering should be done carefully, and irrigation and drainage systems should be maintained. Apply fertilizers wisely, increasing phosphate and potash levels to promote strong, healthy growth. If signs of disease appear, remove infected plants immediately to prevent further spread. After harvest, clear all diseased plant material from the field to reduce the bacterial load for the next season. Fourth, treat seeds before planting. A mixture of 50% carbendazim WP can be used to coat the seeds. Fifth, apply chemical **fungicides** for prevention and treatment. During the early stages of infection, spray the base of the plants thoroughly. Options include 75% chlorothalonil WP diluted 600 times, 50% thiophanate-methyl WP diluted 500 times, 20% mancozeb EC diluted 200 times, or 50% carbendazim WP diluted 500 times. You can also use 10% double-effect hydrating agent diluted 250 times, applying about 250 ml per plant. Repeat the spraying every 10 days for 2–3 applications to ensure effective control.
