Bamboo plywood form types and advantages

Bamboo plywood templates come in two main types: double-sided laminated and two-sided smooth (glossy) finishes. The core material is bamboo, while the laminated version features a hard plastic layer on the surface. This makes it highly durable and suitable for a wide range of construction applications.

One of the key advantages of bamboo plywood templates is their large size, which reduces the number of joints and ensures a smoother, flatter surface. They are lightweight—about 35% lighter than steel formwork of the same dimensions—making them easier to handle and transport. Installation and removal are quick and straightforward, as they can be directly placed onto the framework without the need for special connectors. This significantly speeds up the assembly and disassembly process.

Additionally, these templates have a much lower adhesion force to concrete compared to steel formwork—only about 1/7th—making it easier to demold without damaging the surface. Their structural strength is exceptional, with static bending strength that is 6 to 10 times higher than that of wood plywood, and up to 4 to 5 times stronger than traditional wood. The elastic modulus is also high, ensuring excellent rigidity and durability. The surface is resistant to wear and tear, making it ideal for repeated use.

The product uses modified phenolic resin adhesive, which provides excellent water resistance. It can withstand boiling for up to three hours without delamination. Its thermal conductivity is low—ranging from 0.14 to 1.16 W/m·K—which is much less than that of steel formwork. This helps maintain better insulation for concrete during winter construction, improving overall efficiency.

These templates are widely used in various construction projects, including commercial and residential buildings, airports, parking lots, and urban infrastructure. They are also suitable for container floors, vehicle panels, and ship structures. Among them, the bamboo bridge template stands out for its high quality, available in both standard and high-precision versions. The surface is finely smoothed, with no visible matting, and imported plastic materials are used for superior finish. It is especially ideal for high-grade concrete surfaces such as clear water walls, overpasses, viaducts, high-speed rail tracks, tunnels, dams, power plants, flood control embankments, and high-rise buildings.
