On January 20, it was reported by the Department of Land and Resources of Henan Province that significant progress has been made in bauxite exploration over recent years. In the past three years alone, a total of 800 million tons of bauxite resources have been submitted, marking a major milestone in the province's mineral development. Zhang Xingliao, chief engineer at the department, shared insights into the achievements and future goals of geological exploration.
At the end of 2010, the Ministry of Land and Resources organized a comprehensive meeting in Zhengzhou to promote new mechanisms in geological prospecting. The initiative outlined a strategic plan known as the "358" target: significant progress within three years, major breakthroughs in five years, and a fundamental transformation in eight years. This framework has guided the efforts of geologists across the province.
Over the past three years, geological teams have made remarkable achievements in bauxite exploration. Each exploration unit submitted 17 projects for medium- and large-scale bauxite mines, contributing a total of 31.503 million tons of confirmed bauxite resources. Additionally, they predicted an estimated 485.85 million tons of potential resources, surpassing the target by 286%.
Notably, bauxite deposits located beneath coal seams have shown great potential. During a coal census project in the western part of Cao Kiln in Dianchi County, a large bauxite deposit was discovered, with 175 million tons of new resources submitted. This discovery provides a critical resource base for the country.
In Yiyang County, pre-exploration work on coal-associated bauxite revealed an estimated 41.58 million tons of resources, indicating the possibility of discovering a high-quality, large-scale deposit. Similarly, in the Yanzhou coalfield, preliminary surveys showed that the area holds 919.6 million tons of bauxite, reaching the scale of a major deposit.
West Henan remains a key region for bauxite enrichment. In the Yushan mining area of Xin'an County, a total of 23.627 million tons of bauxite were identified, offering a substantial resource base. In Dianchi County, the Xiaolongmiao bauxite mine estimated 20.065 million tons of resources. Meanwhile, in the Luoyang bauxite mine within the Qilong Coalfield, preliminary investigations have outlined nine ore bodies, totaling approximately 115 million tons—reaching a large-scale level.
In the Lushan-Baofeng Hanliang area, one bauxite mine was found to hold an estimated 58.22 million tons of resources. These discoveries highlight the growing importance of Henan in the national bauxite landscape and underscore the success of targeted exploration efforts.
Wall Sconce
Wall sconce is a lighting fixture installed on a wall, usually made of metal, glass, or plastic. They can provide direct or indirect light, used to illuminate a room, hallway, foyer or other indoor space. Wall sconces are typically mounted on walls and can be used in conjunction with ceiling lights or table lamps to provide more lighting options and visual layering. They can also be used for decorative purposes as they come in various shapes, colors, and design styles to match different interior decor styles.
