Ai Miao EC, containing 30% active ingredient, is one of the key pesticide products promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture. It is a broad-spectrum fungicide developed by Syngenta, designed to control various rice diseases while also regulating plant growth and reducing damage caused by rice planthoppers. Farmers have reported increased yields and improved grain quality after using this product, making it an ideal choice for managing rice diseases.
The active ingredients in Ai Miao EC are 15% propiconazole and 15% difenoconazole. These compounds work by inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis, which is essential for fungal cell membrane integrity. This mechanism prevents pathogen growth and strongly suppresses spore formation. Propiconazole, being a systemic fungicide, can be absorbed through roots, stems, and leaves, and then transported within the plant to protect against a wide range of fungal diseases caused by ascomycetes, basidiomycetes, and deuteromycetes.
Ai Miao EC offers several benefits. First, it has strong disease prevention properties, effectively controlling sheath blight, false smut, rice blast, leaf sheath rot, and other late-stage rice diseases. Its efficacy often surpasses that of conventional fungicides. Second, it enhances rice resistance and promotes even ripening. After application, rice plants show sturdier stalks, better leaf orientation, and improved lodging resistance, leading to better harvestability and higher-quality grains.
Third, it helps reduce damage from rice planthoppers. By strengthening the stalks and improving field ventilation, it creates an unfavorable environment for planthopper infestation. Lastly, it boosts yield and profitability. Ai Miao EC contains growth-regulating components that improve grain filling, increase solid grain numbers, and enhance seed setting rates and 1000-grain weight, ultimately increasing overall productivity.
For optimal results, apply Ai Miao EC early when diseases like sheath blight or leaf sheath rot are detected. For false smut and rice smut, apply the product 5–7 days before panicle emergence, repeating every 10–14 days. The recommended dosage is 15–20 ml per acre, diluted 1,500 times for spraying. It has shown over 90% effectiveness against sheath blight and more than 80% against rice smut, outperforming many other fungicides.
When using Ai Miao EC, it’s important to follow safety guidelines. Apply the product in the late afternoon after the rice seedlings have closed. It is not very effective for neck rot control, so adding 7–30 g of tricyclazole wettable powder per acre is recommended for blast management. Additionally, avoid using it on sensitive rice varieties or melon crops, as high concentrations may cause phytotoxicity. Always take care to prevent spray drift onto vulnerable plants.
