After more than 20 years of intensive research, Liu Cunshou, a professor at Northwest A & F University and his team, "Plant Carbon-based Nutrition Principles and Natural Organic Matter Efficient Utilization Technology" have now entered pilot production in Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province.

Liu Cunshou began to explore in 1996 to alleviate the side effects of fertilizers. Since 2005, he led a team to conduct research and demonstration of plant carbon-based nutrient fertilizer production. The team took the method of artificially simulating microbial degradation and used simple equipment to quickly convert wastes such as livestock manure, crop straws, sewage, sludge and other wastes into fully water-soluble, organic and nutrient fertilizers-plant carbon-based nutrients.

"In recent years, through experiments on 200,000 acres of land across the country, using the 'rich living element' land, the average cost of farming per acre for farmers has been reduced by 20% to 30%, and the average yield per mu has increased by more than 15%." Liu Cunshou said , "This technology can effectively solve the problems of rural organic waste disposal and land improvement, and can also reduce the use of pesticides and fertilizers." Large-scale demonstrations in Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi and other provinces show that this fertilizer has high yield, high quality and cultivation. Fertilizing the soil, promoting plant root growth, and activating microorganisms have shown significant advantages. Professor Zhao Yufen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other experts highly affirmed this research, and believed that the research results are at a leading level in the world, and it has great practical significance and a demonstration role in achieving "two reductions in fertilizers and medicines" and controlling agricultural pollution.
