The first fish genome-wide fine map deciphering in China

The first complete fish genome fine map completed in China, and also the world's first flounder genome-semi-smooth tongue gill genome sequence map, was published in the international famous academic journal Nature Genetics. This is the first paper published in this magazine in the field of fisheries in China.

This research was jointly conducted by the researcher of the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute Chen Songlin, and jointly with Shenzhen Huada Gene, the University of Würzburg, the French Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and the National University of Singapore to reveal the origin of chromosomes and sex determination mechanisms. The benthic adaptation mechanisms of the flatfish and flounder provide valuable genetic resources. At the same time, they help the sex control and genetic improvement of the semi-slip tongue licking, laying an important foundation for the establishment of molecular breeding techniques and breeding of improved varieties.

The semi-slip tongue lick is a unique economical marine fish unique to China. Females are 2-4 times larger than males. It is one of the fishes with the greatest differences in male and female growth. In aquaculture, the males of the semi-slip tongue larvae are small, grow slowly, and have a high proportion, affecting the quality of commercial fish, reducing the aquaculture production, limiting the promotion of seedlings and the development of the aquaculture industry. By mapping the whole genomic map of the semi-slip tongue lick, a microsatellite marker technique was established for the sex identification of semi-slip tongue licking fish. The identification accuracy rate reached 100%, and the technical difficulty in identifying the semi-smooth tongue ZW female and WW female was overcome. According to Chen Songlin, on this basis, a semi-slip tongue licking high physiological female seed production technology has increased the proportion of physiological females for semi-slip tongue licking culture by more than 20%, thereby increasing aquaculture production by about 20%, providing a semi-slip tongue licking culture industry Effective technical support.
