In March 2011, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Government signed a "12th Five-Year Plan" strategic cooperation agreement with China Aluminum Corporation, clarifying that after China Aluminum Corporation is responsible for promoting the research and development of bauxite in the Central Guangxi, China Aluminum Corporation attaches great importance to it. Major science and technology projects were organized to organize domestic universities and research institutes to carry out “producing, researching, and researching” breakthroughs in the comprehensive utilization of bauxite in the central Guangxi, and made breakthroughs in the application of patents for inventions. Compared with the traditional smelting technology, the patented technology has the characteristics of high resource utilization, low energy consumption, low cost, no solid waste, etc. The results are at the forefront of the world.

Participating experts and representatives listened to the introduction of the research results and project construction conditions of the comprehensive utilization of low-grade, difficult-to-smelting iron-aluminum symbiotic minerals by the Chinalco Corporation and other units, and the extensive and enthusiastic discussion after field visits to the proposed site. The expert group believes that low-grade and difficult-to-steer smelting iron and aluminum symbiotic mineral resources in Guizhong are rich in resources, and accelerating comprehensive development and utilization is of great strategic importance in improving domestic resource support capabilities and promoting local economic and social development; low-grade, iron-aluminum symbiosis in the middle of Guangxi The content of alumina and iron in the ore is low, and the cost of separate development and utilization is high. Only comprehensive utilization is of value. Chinalco and Northeastern University have jointly tackled key technologies acquired and have applied for invention patents. The invention patent has advanced technology. It is economically viable and it is the first in the world. The construction conditions of the mining areas such as topography, transportation, water supply, and power supply in the low-grade and difficult-to-smelting iron-aluminum symbiotic mining area in Guizhong are in good conditions.

Experts suggest that at present, the low-grade, iron-aluminum symbiosis geological exploration work in Guangxi has only reached the level of census. In order to meet the needs of industrial development and utilization, it is recommended that Guangxi Geological Prospecting Department and Chinalco Corporation should carry out detailed investigation and exploration and start the project as soon as possible.
