Bengang's “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” energy saving and emission reduction achieved remarkable results

Last year, two steel 265 square meters sintering machine desulfurization projects were officially launched. After the project is put into production, it can reduce 10,543 tons of sulfur dioxide and 516 tons of smoke and dust. In accordance with the national iron and steel industry development policy, Benxi Steel has conscientiously implemented the scientific development concept during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, vigorously strengthened energy conservation and emission reduction and structural adjustment, and further increased investment in key pollution source management and implemented various types of energy conservation and emission reduction targets. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Bengang not only regards energy conservation and emission reduction, and eliminates backward production capacity as the obligations of enterprises, but also regards them as social responsibility. Under the impetus of “double” responsibility, in order to build Benxi Steel into a green and ecological enterprise, in order to reproduce the clear blue water and blue sky of Benxi, Bengang took effective measures to “strike out” and implement various environmental management and pollution reduction projects. Item, including 22 major pollutant emission reduction projects confirmed by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, through the use of large-scale equipment and various high-tech, vigorously carry out energy-saving emission reduction work. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Bengang completely shut down and eliminated a large number of backward industrial facilities such as the original iron plant, and increased efforts in energy conservation, emission reduction and comprehensive utilization of resources, and completed 4,747 cubic meters of emission reduction and emission reduction. Large-scale energy-saving and environmentally-friendly blast furnace construction and dry quenching, 180-ton steel-making converter and refining, and other high-tech renovation projects for energy conservation and emission reduction. Benxi Iron & Steel also organized a comprehensive research and development of technology to reduce consumption and save water and increase efficiency, effectively reducing the comprehensive energy consumption per ton of steel and the consumption of new water per ton of steel. In addition, Benxi Steel's largest 2300mm wide slab hot strip mill, automotive sheet and high-end home appliances board, etc., a large number of high-tech projects with “new and old” make the steel environment friendly to energy-saving and emission-reducing clean production. The type of enterprise has taken a big step, so that the steel products and process structure have been further optimized and upgraded, the overall equipment level has been greatly improved, and some production processes have ranked among the world's first.

Strongly promoted and implemented various energy conservation and emission reduction work, effectively promoted the scientific development of Benxi Steel and achieved gratifying results. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Bengang achieved a total reduction of 32,576 tons of sulfur dioxide emission reduction, 28,845 tons of emission reduction dust, 18.73 million tons of waste water, and 2148.6 tons of COD emission reduction. Compared with 2005, steel production increased by 53.68. %, the sulfur dioxide emissions per ton of steel decreased from 5.48kg to 2.4kg, a decrease of 56.2%; the discharge of tons of steel smoke decreased from 4.95kg to 1.58kg, a decrease of 68.1%; the discharge of ton steel wastewater decreased from 5.94 tons to 1.95. Tons, a decrease of 67.17%; COD emissions per ton of steel fell from 0.41 kg to 0.1 kg, a decrease of 75.6%. The qualified emission rate of pollutants increased from 92.46% to 96.91%, an increase of 4.45%. Strongly promote and implement various energy-saving and emission-reducing work, making Benxi's sky bluer, clearer water and fresher air. From the perspective of air quality, the number of days of good weather has increased from 291 days in 2005 to 343 days. Benxi Steel has made outstanding contributions to the improvement of the air in this stream.

During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Bengang insisted on optimizing the structural adjustment of energy conservation and emission reduction, realizing the transformation from an internationally competitive quality plate base to building a resource-saving enterprise, improving product competitiveness and enterprise economic benefits, and revitalizing the Northeast.
