Recently, China Nuclear Power Research and Design Institute, a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation, has independently developed a safety-grade nuclear power plant digital instrument control system (DCS) Dragonscale system that has achieved international certification, reaching the highest functional safety integrity level in this field, with high safety and high reliability. This certification provides an important support for China's nuclear power industry to "go global", indicating that CNNC has the domestic DCS supply capacity of completely independent intellectual property rights.

DCS is hailed as the "neural center" of nuclear power plant operation, and is composed of safety-level DCS and non-safety-level DCS. It controls the operation of hundreds of systems, nearly ten thousand equipment and various working conditions of nuclear power plants. The safety-level DCS can realize the safe shutdown of the reactor under accident conditions and ensure the safe operation of the nuclear power plant; the non-safety-level DCS is responsible for the operation and management and is an important guarantee for the high efficiency and economy of the nuclear power plant.

A few days ago, the internationally renowned certification organization TUV SÃœD issued the highest level of functional safety certificate for the safety-grade DCS dragon scale system. Since then, China National Nuclear Corporation has owned the first domestic plant-wide DCS with completely independent intellectual property rights. (Li Huiyu)
