4.BOM application introduction

Based on the CAXA EAP platform unified business model, CAXA BOM provides a comprehensive, accurate and continuous management solution for the product lifecycle, which not only enables the configuration and status information of products during their life cycle. Comprehensive management, and also a data organization hub for enterprise-level product lifecycle data management.

The CAXA BOM has the following main features:

a) The construction and management of the basic structure of the BOM can be completed, and the basic management of products and components can be realized;

b) Ability to define and manage multiple views of the BOM as needed, and control mapping and transformation between views;

c) able to completely record the various states of the BOM structure and strictly control the transition process of its product structure;

To sum up, the CAXA BOM implements three functions: BOM view management, view state management, and configuration management.

View management reflects the characteristics of BOM diversification and variability. Based on the initial engineering design BOM, after subsequent processing and processing, BOM can be transformed into process BOM, manufacturing BOM and other forms. In combination, the form of BOM is:

a) Design E-BOM (general product structure and examples)

b) Process P-BOM (self-made parts / purchased parts route)

c) Manufacturing M-BOM (minimum unit of production system, serving MM and PP in ERP)

d) Service S-BOM (spare/spare list, product file)

The above BOM is represented as a view of component and product structure management in the application. The BOM view management focuses on solving the evolution and duplicate entry between different view BOMs and the information inconsistency and error-prone problem, including BOM generation, BOM editing, and BOM comparison. , BOM export and other functions.

The analysis and comparison of the BOM view is carried out between two similar views, and the analysis results are presented in the form of graphs and data. View comparisons include differential analysis and similarity analysis. The figure below shows a differential analysis between two BOM views.
