1. **Radial Load**
If the load is primarily radial or purely radial, a radial spherical bearing is typically the best choice. These bearings are designed to handle significant radial forces and can also accommodate some axial load, making them versatile for various applications.
2. **Axial Load**
For applications where the load is mainly axial or purely axial, a spherical thrust bearing should be used. These bearings are specifically designed to manage axial forces and can also tolerate a certain amount of radial load, depending on the design.
3. **Combined Load**
When the load includes both radial and axial components, angular contact ball bearings are ideal. These bearings are capable of handling axial loads in one direction only, so it’s common to pair them with another bearing that can manage the opposite direction of the load, ensuring balanced performance.
4. **Directional Load Conditions**
If the load remains constant and there is significant relative motion between the surfaces under dynamic conditions, a maintenance-free bearing is often the best option.
