Research on 3D Design Method of Ship Engine Room Based on CATIA(3)

CATIA software not only has strong processing functions for professional schematics, layout drawings and statistical reports in the detailed design stage; at the same time, it can also generate professional construction drawings, parts processing orders and statistical reports in the production design stage.

(1) Users can use the VB Script language to call the CATIA software's Report tool to extract the BOM information of the pipe system, air duct and cable, and further use the VBA program to customize the statistical summary function [4]. As shown in Figure 7.


(2) Using the mechanical drawing function of CATIA software, the three-dimensional entity generates the two-dimensional view function and the function of the axonometric drawing of any steering, and generates various layouts and installation drawings of the engine room.

(3) Using the special module of the CATIA software, eight different types of pipe parts processing orders can be generated according to actual needs, as shown in Figure 8. At the same time, the tube opening table can be generated by using the software's own hull opening module.

1.6 Electronic sample ship

In ship design with CATIA, the electronic sample ship has very special functions: first, it can be collaboratively reviewed through roaming and communication tools; second, using its own simulation system and profile analysis, measurement and 3D geometry comparison Other functions, such as DMU (Digital Mock Up) verification, define, simulate and analyze assembly and disassembly processes of various sizes, and the operational status of system mounting components, as shown in Figure 9. In addition, using the four-dimensional browser in the CATIA software, it is also possible to conduct a "field inspection" of the hull structure of the cabin, equipment cabinets, piping layout and compartment division, office equipment, file cabinets, sanitary ware, and daily household appliances.


3 Conclusion

Through the design and test of the actual ship on the CATIA software, it shows that the achievements of the CATIA software in some high-end technology manufacturing industries such as aerospace and automobile, the introduction of the shipbuilding industry can make the shipbuilding industry directly quote or indirectly draw on CATIA in the above-mentioned fields. Advanced and mature technology. These technologies have a very unique reference for the design of offshore engineering platforms. Its basic functions cover all aspects of ship design, throughout the analysis, design, construction, and maintenance of the entire ship's product life cycle.
