According to the data issued by the National Energy Administration on the 14th, in August, China's total social power consumption was 510.3 billion kWh, a year-on-year increase of 13.7%, and the growth rate has risen for four consecutive months.
From January to August, the country’s entire society used a total of 350.3 billion kWh of electricity, up 6.8 percent year-on-year. From the perspective of sub-industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 69.2 billion kWh, which was a year-on-year decline of 0.5%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 2566.4 billion yuan. Kilowatt-hour, an increase of 6.3%; tertiary industry electricity consumption 416.1 billion kwh, an increase of 10.7%; urban and rural residents electricity consumption 449.6 billion kwh, an increase of 7.5%.
Analysts pointed out that as an important indicator of the “cold and warm†observation of the economy, the increase in electricity consumption data confirms that the macroeconomic situation has stabilized. As an indicator reflecting economic growth, China's manufacturing purchasing managers index rebounded significantly in August for the second consecutive month, reaching 51.0%, setting a new high during the year.
While the growth in electricity consumption is picking up, China’s electricity consumption structure has undergone positive changes since the beginning of this year, and the growth rate of electricity consumption in the tertiary industry has been faster than that of the primary and secondary industries.
